Welcome to my world of glass art.

Here exotic flowers, fruit, ocean and natural geological references intertwine in my “garden of the goddess”. My work is not meant to be realistic but something from a dream, a fantasy of brilliant form that evokes a visceral response, surprising the viewer.
Most importantly, I want my sculpture to celebrate the material of molten glass; its forever-liquid state, the way light changes it, and it changes light. I hope the viewer will do a double-take and wonder, “Did that just move?”
I work in series, with each original piece of a series related to the others by color and form.

About My Process

With molten glass as my medium, I strive for work that is organically evocative. First, I gather the molten glass on a blowpipe, which is a 5 foot long hollow steel tube. After blowing a small bubble in the glass, I shape the piece with hand tools.
Then, using the laws of physics to “spin the glass out,” I create loose, ripply, organic forms.
Through my process I transport to places otherwise unavailable to me: The ocean floor, touching anemones and urchins, the inside of a malaysian orchid, the garden of the goddess. Against the harshness and strife of the world, I throw beauty, the combatant at my disposal.
